International Dog Biscuit Appreciation Day

They say every dog has its day, and guess what? That day has finally arrived. Every year on the 23rd of February, International Dog Biscuit Appreciation Day is celebrated. Nobody really knows how or when such a day began, but what we do know is this day is being celebrated since the mid-19th century.

Why and how to celebrate such a popular day have all been given below. Take a read!

International Dog Biscuit Appreciation Day

It is to be believed that an American named James Spratt created this special day for dogs. And ever since that day, not only Americans but the entire world celebrates International Dog Biscuit Appreciation Day.

The Why…

Isn’t it fairly obvious why International Dog Biscuit Appreciation Day is celebrated? It is all about showing your appreciation towards your beloved canine friend and thanking him for being there by your side, always. Yes, of course, appreciation is shown by way of your love, but appreciating your buddy by giving him treats in the form of biscuits is a form of love which he would more likely understand.

We all know how much dogs love their food, and treats are something we would normally give them for doing something good. Moreover, creating a day to appreciate them for being there for us was the least we humans could have done for them.

The How…

Now onto the fun part where we will discuss a few pawsome activities which you could implement to celebrate your doggy’s special day.

1. Bake Biscuits…Duh

It’s called dog biscuit appreciation day for a reason, and without biscuits, it would be meaningless. Hence, get your inner chef out and bake some lip-smacking biscuits for your furry munchkin. It would be much more appreciated if you could make him his favorite one.

2. Dog Biscuit Party

If you wish to celebrate this special day with your neighboring dogs, you could do so by organizing a biscuit party. Assemble all the neighbors’ dogs in your yard and give them the tasty baked biscuits, which were made out of love. They all will surely relish it and thank you with a cluster of tail wags.

3. Spread the Word

There might be many pet parents in your area who might know nothing about this day. Why not go around educating the people near you and telling them the importance of appreciating the many things our little four-legged pals do for us. Moreover, you could also visit shelter homes, and feed those poor creatures some biscuits. Make them feel loved.
